Laelia albida

THE WHITE LAELIA (even though this
one has splash petals). One of Mexico's
smaller Laelia species. The flowers are normally pure white with a little yellow
on the lip, but you never know what comes up, LOOK AT THE PICTURE! It blooms in
the fall with a simple inflorescence carrying 5 to 15 flowers, 2 ½ TO 3 inches
across. It is easy to grow outdoors in coastal California and is classified as
an intermediate to cool grower.
They do well in a high light position with good air movement and will do okay in
a greenhouse where Cattleyas are grown if you can keep them cooler in the summer.
